I bought this for my three year old son, several months ago, and he plays with it every day.When it's "sleeping," my son curls it up, and sticks it under his Noah's Ark Book Display.There are also other snakes by this same company underneath.The details are excellent; my son has a photo of a real burmese python from one of our zoo trips, and the stuffed snake looks exactly like the real thing.We've had no problems with the stitching, but the tongue is a piece of felt sewn into the seams, and might rip off, depending on how rough your child is (this did happen with one of the other snakes).
My son loves the size because he can wrap it around his shoulders, and walk around without his snake falling off.It's thick enough that it would not pose a strangulation hazard.
If your child is crazy about snakes, I would recommend getting one of these stuffed ones, rather than the plastic ones.These ones are much more comfortable to sleep with, as sometimes my son has the snakes crawling around his bed at night.Plush Boa Constrictor 50" is one of my son's other favorties.
