I suppose I should have been more careful reading the description before buying two of these for my nieces. This doll has the ability to make quacking sounds, and the description on this page says "parent friendly" which I would very much disagree with. There are three sets of quacks that come out of this duck, and they are loud enough to not be "parent friendly". I think I probably won't be giving these to the girls, unless I am in a mood to send my sister-in-law over the edge.I did give the duck 4 stars, however, for being very cute and seemingly well-made. Had to deduct a star for being too loud for me and for quacking more times than necessary (once or twice would have been better). They are smaller than I imagined, so I would suggest measuring out 8 inches to get an idea if this is what you were looking for.
There are beans in the feet and wings to give them a little extra weight. It is easy to feel the large plastic box in the body of the duck that gives the noise, but the rest of it is very soft.
