I purchased this item (and a slightly different one) for a set of precious little girls (sisters) who's family I stayed with while traveling internationally. They were very interested in my Maltese, as there are very few different breeds of dogs in their country, and I was planning to send the girls their own stuffed Malteses.This little girl plush puppy is small and cute, and even comes with her own pet carrier. The photo is a bit misleading as the carrier is definitely too big for the toy, giving it a mismatched look, but it's still something a little girl would enjoy. However before I could box it up with the other one, my real Maltese dog decided that even though he no longer has all of his manhood, he needed a girlfriend, and this little girl was too cute for him to resist. By the time I found her, he had chewed sizable dents in her left eye so I decided to just give in and let him go to town.
The toy is probably durable enough for a child, but my little guy, who has a rough time with crunchy biscuits due to his small teeth and not very powerful jaw, has been able to do some fairly impressive damage in less than a month, something he has never been able to do with any of his other toys, so it's definitely not as strong as it could be.
Overall, it's fine for a child, but even more tempting for a mischievous Maltese looking for love.
