Hug-a-Longs Plush Toy - Frog Review

Hug-a-Longs Plush Toy - FrogI wanted another hug-a-long but can't spend $20-25 on an animal...I hate to say it this way but I settled for the frog because it was on sale for $10...for those of you hoping it will drop again, that sale lasted 1 day-luckily I got it when I did.

I am not a frog person - I only had two other frogs, one was from a claw machine and was the only guy I could get and the other was a Jellycat Truffle which I collect regardless of the animal type.So getting this frog was "settling" for the cheapest.

Anyway, I digress! This guy is so unbeleviably adorable - his head is slightly floppier than the other hugalongs and combined with the shape of the head and the facial expression, it makes him very muppet -like.He is so soft, so cuddly, so cute, I can't even describe him. When I got him I wasn't even excited and immediately wished I didn't spend the money as I was opening the box and then I took him out and fell in love. His feet are as cute as his face - ridiculously cute-slightly harry on top, yellow on the bottom.when he sits, they stand up perfectly. He can wear build a bear slippers and he's now wearing a green plush robe which looks hilarious. However, it is hard to find clothes for him because he has slumped shoulders when he sits, like he's pouting or moping and any shirts or anything with an open or wide neck slips half way down, pinning his arms to his sides. We jokingly called him "misery frog" when he arrived because if you sit him a certain way, all slumped and mopey he just looks so miserable but then you life up his head and he looks like he just wants a hug and is happy as a clam.

No, I am not nuts - I just think stuffed animals are hilarious, so I collect them.If you collect animals, you likely see the personality in your animals too.If you don't, never mind!

As for durability - I would love to give him a 5, he deserves it for being so cute. But, sadly one arm is no longer stretchy because the rubberband/bungie thing inside came detached from wither the hand or the shoulder, I don't know which but his arm doesn't stretch anymore and hangs longer than the other one which stretches the full length but doesn't hand the full length. It doesn't really matter because he can still hug you just have to stretch one arm. This happened after about 6 months with no activity - no kids, no dragging around, just sitting on a shelf, a bed, or a couch - and changing clothes depending on a holiday etc. So a kid might dislocate his shoulder much quicker.

FYI - he looks fabulous in a build a bear/stuffed animal santa suit!
