I bought this toy for my niece who just turned one. She absolutely loves it! The insects have different textured wings - which she finds fascinating. She also loves pulling the bugs out of the wholes and then putting them back in. I would recommend this one for smaller children. I think older kids (5/6 and up would probably find it boring.)
However, it does require adult supervision if you are giving it to an infant or toddler because some of the bugs have those hard plastic eyes that kids can choke on. So it is one you have to make sure they aren't putting in their mouths.
Other than the hard plastic eyes I can't find any other drawbacks to this toy. I love too all the different sets that they come in. I work with kids and will be picking up the Farm Animal Set, Vet Set, and Ocean Set soon. I think they will love the hands on play they will get to do when we learn about Farms or Vets, etc. This one is definitely worth while if you have kids who have big imaginations.
