I bought the Discovery Ball by Leap Frog for my granddaughter, who at the time was only 9 months old.Once opened it was the only toy she played with the rest of the day.She loved all of the songs, and the lights and being able to roll that ball on its stand is a G-R-E-A-TBIG PLUS for this toy.I will not buy anything but educational toys for my grandchildren.This ball, is a great size for little hands.It has three play modes, volume control, however even if it didn't have a volume control, the music is great to listin to.I gave this little granddaughter of mine two musical toys at Christmas time last year - the other one was much higher priced - it is the Sunshine Symphony, which plays classical music - between these two toys if my granddaughter can choose she will go for the Discovery Ball every time.She started to walk at 10 & 1/2 months of age.Now that she is walking the ball has been removed from the stand and has been rolled all over the place and even dropped down some stairs by accident - but it is a very tough ball and the fall never hurt it a bit.Oh by the way my little granddaughter's older sister who is five even likes to play with it.People, please, take it from an old grandmother, if you only have enough money to buy one toy for your child per year - by the Discovery Ball by Leap Frog - Trust me, you WILL NOT be sorry for the small amount of money spent on this toy - it is worth every penny of it.Want to buy LeapFrog Discovery Ball at other amazon sites? My 10.5 month old son and "almost" 2 year old daughter LOVE this puppy!!!It is so cute!And very good sized too!My daughter will sit and play with it - pushing on the ear, hands, feet, stomache and nose... making it talk and sing.My son just likes to dance away while the puppy sings (teehee)!We all have a good time with it!

My son is 18 mo. old. and I picked this toy off the shelf for him to play with while riding in the shopping cart at the store. Normally I would think that he would not be interested in something like this as he is a rough and tumble kind of kid, but he loved it! He was fascinated with the music and lights. He was also able to squeeze the hands and feet easily with no problems to play the sounds. I liked how soft the furr was. Very nice quality. Doesn't seem like the furr would get ratty looking like some cheap stuffed animals do. This toy is very educational as well! When it was time to leave the store I literally could not pry this from his hands. I finally did get it from him and he was completly distraught. The tiger is large and of good quality. My daughter loves it -- it goes just about everywhere with her! I love the daytime and nighttime options.It makes a great transition tool for trying to wean my son because while nursing at night, I would play the nighttime music until he would fall asleep.Now, I can just play the music and he can fall asleep without me having to nurse him.I know when he wakes up in the morning because I can hear him playing with Tad in his crib, and I can get him before he gets upset and starts to cry.Very happy baby and mommy!
