Fisher-Price Puppy Grows and Knows Your Name Tan Review

I bought this last year for my then 2-year-old son when it first came out for [...] Since I ordered it on Amazon, sending it back would mean losing out on a big chunk of what I paid for it in return shipping, so we just kept it. It was one of the worst toy purchases I have ever made.

The puppy's voice is not very pleasant, in my opinion, and upon loading up the software you'll find that at least 80% of the names available to give your puppy are female names. It's not that big of a deal, but my son wanted his puppy to be a boy and the voice sounds like a boy, so I didn't quite get the lack of male names on the software.

My major gripe is the total lack of variety. On the first day, the puppy says only 2 or 3 different things. As he grows, he says one new thing each day and repeats all the others. It gets extremely repetitive very fast. The bone and brush (if you can manage to not lose them) are fun at first because the puppy says something specifically about the item, but the bone is tricky to get in the right spot. You have to push it against his nose more than put it in his mouth. Still, it made my son giggle quite a bit when the puppy burped the first few times after having the bone.

The growing aspect is also lacking. It does not grow as much as you're led to believe. A few inches is about it. And due to all the mechanical parts that make this puppy tick, it is hard as a rock and not cuddly in any way. My son used to try to drag him around the house and it's just silly seeing him drag this heavy, stiff animal around.

He did enjoy him the first few days, but now the puppy is lucky to get his attention once every few weeks. I cringe every time I think of all the other quality toys I could have gotten him for what I paid for this. Not recommended!

Playskool Kota and Pals Hatchling - Stegosaurus Review

I think it's cute. My son has this one and the t-rex hatchling. He's only 1, and of course he does things he probably shouldn't with them, but they seem to be holding up really well so far. He sometimes pulls on the moving parts while they are moving and instead of braking, they seem to pause and let him go about what he's doing and then finish moving when he lets go. All in all, a very cute toy. I bought one for a friend's son too! :)

Furreal Friends Newborn Kitten (Black and White) Review

We bought this for my Daughter. It's very cute and plays with it all the time.It's amusing because the noise it makes is more like a rat than a cat so we call it rat-cat.I can say though that she loves kitties and this one makes her laugh!

This toy is for educational purposes. I would let the children watch only segments of the video and not in its entirity. The stuffed animal is a good reading buddy because it is washable. It is worth what I paid for it becasue of its educational purpose.

Fisher-Price Puppy Grows and Knows Your Name Black and White Review

My 5 year old picked this out for a friend's birthday and then begged to have one for herself.She loves "Sparkles" and she has become an integral part of her play world.My main complaint would be that it is not mac compatible, so we had to wait about a week until we could go to a friend's house to program.Once it is programmed you are good to go and you don't have to redo.The batteries that came with the dog did not last, nor did our friend's dogs batteries.The dog will not say much (only one sentence) when the batteries are low.I thought we had a broken dog until my husband changed the batteries.We did not have to reprogram even after changing the batteries.My daughter wants another one in another color.Great toy!

Playskool Kota and Pals Hatchling - Triceratops Review

This dinosaur is adorable.My son is 3 and has pervasive developmental disorder--he just recently started learning how to "roarrrr" so I thought a toy dinosaur would be good.He was a little confused by this little toy at first, but now is interested in it.You touch the dinosaur's back to make it "talk"--it then continues to make noises for a bit on its own, then goes into sleep mode if you don't touch its back again.The dinosaur's head moves as he makes little "baby" or "sleepy" noises in addition to a low roar or two.The mouth opens while the dinosaur moves it's head.There are two tiny teeth near the tongue--not dangerous or scarey and the roar is cute.

Fisher-Price Puppy Grows and Knows Your Name White Review

My Daughter had to have this for Christmas this year, She is 7 years old, and loves this puppy, How ever she does not play with it as much as I thought she would, Once the puppy grew to full size, That was it for her, You can however reset the dog so it can grow all over again, The down fall though is once you reset it, you have to re program it all over again with the childs name and so foruth, I think it's a great gift for the price I bought it for 17.99, But there is no way I would pay over 20.00 for this dog, it just doesnt do enough!

Plush Dinosaurs House Review

The plush dinosaurs in this toy were much bigger than I expected. The material seemed to be very durable and they seemed well put together. I bought this for a little boy who just turned two (he had a themed dinosaur birthday party) and he loved it. It's great that the dinosaurs are all different, bright colors. The holes in the egg/house are big enough so the dinosaurs can be easily pushed in or taken out to play with, but not so big that it is easy for them to fall out.

The only thing I really wish is that they had picked a different object to serve as a house - but I don't know if I can necessarily think of anything better. A lot of people asked me what it was, though.

It's a really cute toy, and went over really well with the kids and adults. I wanted one for myself!
